Susan E. Rizos, Esq. entered private practice as a solo attorney in 1998 opening her office in Astoria, New York.  Since that time, she has represented thousands of clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcies, Contested and Uncontested Divorce cases, Custody and Support matters in Family Court, before the United States Citizenship & Immigration Service and the Labor Department in both family and business immigration matters, buyers and sellers at real estate closings and other related legal matters.  The office was established with the goal of keeping  legal fees affordable while still providing zealous representation.

Prior to opening her own firm, she gained valuable experience interning for the former Chief Justice of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York, the Honorable Conrad B. Duberstein, and working as a bankruptcy paralegal for over seven years under the supervision of one of New York State's first certified bankruptcy attorneys, Paul Hollender, Esq.  In addition, she worked as a paralegal for over seven yearns and a contract negotiator for a thriving local construction company managing contracts in excess of $2,500,000.

In 2005, she relocated her office to new, larger space (also conveniently located in Astoria, New York) which enabled the expansion of legal services, the hiring of additional support staff and the acquisition of updated technology making the office operate more efficiently for the benefit of clients.

In 2007, she developed an "of counsel" relationship with the lawfirm of Corash & Hollender PC and presently handles their Queens County bankruptcy cases as well as sees bankruptcy clients at their main office in Staten Island, New York one night per week.  Corash & Hollender is one of the City's premier bankruptcy law firms.

The convenience of her Astoria office location allows her to serve clients living throughout New York City, including all areas of Queens,  Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx and Staten Island.  In addition, she routinely handles cases for clients residing in Nassau & Suffolk Counties as well as represents individuals in bankruptcy in New Jersey.

She and a partner, Helen C. Kyrillidis, founded a tax preparation company in 2000.  Station Plaza Tax Preparation, located on the same floor as her law office, offers year round income tax preparation services to individuals and those self employed.   As a result of her involvement in the tax preparation business, attorney Rizos has expanded her legal services to include assistance for individuals with tax problems.  Services offered in this area include Offers in Compromise, lien and levy removal.

Attorney Rizos is no stranger to litigation having taken numerous cases through to trial.  Yet, she has a keen ability to negotiate settlements when necessary to achieve the client's goals.  She works closely with the client to ensure that their case proceeds in the manner that is best for the client at all times.

She has written articles on Bankruptcy & Immigration which were published in local magazines and was asked by former Governor Pataki to speak on a panel regarding the sunsetting of Section 245i of the Immigration & Nationality Act in the Spring of 2001.  She was also selected by the President of the New York State Bar Association to work on the Association's Special Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law which is dedicated to protecting the public from persons practicing law without a license and taking advantage of trusting clients seeking legal help.  She still serves on that Committee today.

Attorney Rizos resides in New York City with her husband who is a New York City Police Officer.

She is the owner, sole attorney and founder of the firm and is responsible for all legal work, Court appearances and representation.
